Founder and CEO of Grooms Wealth Management

The heart and soul of Grooms Wealth Management is Scott Grooms, an industry veteran who possesses and delivers to his clients over thirty years of wealth management advisory knowledge, insights and expertise.  In 2004, with the desire to create truly independent investment platform atop which he could provide financial planning, wealth management, investment advisory and management, and risk management guidance to clients without any pressures from “management” to use proprietary products, Scott created Grooms Wealth Management and transferred his practice and clients to LPL Financial, the largest independent broker/dealer in operation today.

Before establishing Grooms Wealth Management, Scott’s early years at Charles Schwab & Co. instilled his passion for educating investors and helping clients with his hands-on approach to financial planning. At Schwab, he developed and refined his skills delivering investment education and financial advice tailored to individualized client needs. As a Financial Advisor and Retirement Planning Specialist at Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, Scott furthered his focus by working in partnership with clients to collectively manage their individual assets and help them secure their financial future. Later, he joined Smith Barney's Private Client Group in San Francisco as a Second Vice President of Investments and Financial Consultant. At Smith Barney, Scott was one of few investment advisors to leverage various technologies to administer a true comprehensive financial planning and wealth management system, enabling his clients to better see and understand their full financial health.  Embracing the importance and power of comprehensive financial planning and wealth management, Scott leveraged his initial 15 years of industry experience to launch Grooms Wealth Management.

Scott holds a BS in political science from the University of California at Irvine and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional. With Scott’s tenured experience and education, his clients are empowered with the assurance that every facet of their financial lives is cohesively directed and proactively furthered.

When not serving his clients, Scott is an ardently dedicated family man who simply enjoys quality time and living life with his wife, two sons, and two family dogs.  He is grateful for the amazing Marin County outdoors and enjoys hiking the scenic trails and walking the beaches of Marin, back-packing, mountain biking, playing golf, reading, learning, and listening to music.  Based in Mill Valley, Scott is an integral participant in his community by contributing financially to local schools and charities.
